Professor Dr. Muhammed Alamgir joins UGC as Member

Professor Dr. Muhammed Alamgir, ex-Vice Chancellor of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) on 16 June 2019 joined University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh as full-time Member.

Joining UGC, Professor Alamgir said his main task would be to assist UGC for ensuring quality education and research for the new generation who will lead Bangladesh to hold its head in high in global arena.

On 12 June, 2019 the government appointed Professor Dr. Dil Afroza Begum, Professor Dr. Muhammed Alamgir and Professor Dr. Sazzad Hossain as Full-Time Members of UGC.

Professor Alamgir served two consecutive terms as Vice Chancellor of KUET.  He is the senior faculty of Civil Engineering Department of KUET. He acted as the Syndicate Member, Dean and Head of Civil Engineering Dept and Hall Provost.

A total of 242 research papers of Professor Alamgir have been published in national international journals.

Professor Alamgir obtained his BSc and MSc degrees from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology. He did his PhD and Post Doctoral degrees from Saga University, Japan.

Professor Alamgir was born in Chadpur in 1963.
