Educationists call for ensuring world-class education at college level
Country’s renowned educationist at a programme in Dhaka called for ensuring world-class education at college level of the country for survival in the competetion in the developed world and building a developed nation. Higher education of the country will not reach the desired goal until and unless the college education is modernised. The Government should prioritise the higher education and increase budgetary allocation in this sector, they observed.
The opinion was conveyed at a meeting of Expert Committee for development of Science, Technology and ICT in formulating strategic plan for education at college level under College Education Development Project (CEDP) at UGC on 13 January 2020.
The educationist noted that formulation of a particular strategic plan is urgent for development of college education. Standard and quality textbooks need to be written by the expert teachers at college level so that these textbooks are sustainable for at least 20 years. Baseline study is imperative to determine the existing situation of science education imparted by college. Students should be inspired for scinece education, they opined.
