Griffith University to provide scholarships for Bangladeshi students
The Griffith University of Australia is proposing to award 25 scholarships over a period of five years for PhD programme to students from Bangladesh. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between UGC and Griffith University in near future.
Professor David Grant, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Griffith University expressed his desire to offer these scholarships in the field of Science and Technology and Business Studies. University Grants Commission of Bangladesh will select the candidates for the PhD programme from both Public and Private universities through open competition.
A three-member delegation from Australia called on UGC Member Professor Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah on 25 March 2019 at UGC. Other members of the delegation were Professor Mr. Peter Woods and Australian Trade and Investment Commission’s Business Development Manager Mr. Mostafizur Rahman.
Professor Yousuf Ali Mollah said joint research activities and academic staff exchange facilities shall be conducted as per the MoU. “The PhD scholarship, academic and research collaboration will enhance our research and development activities,” he added.
Dr. Md. Khaled, Secretary and Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam, Director, UGC, were present.
