UGC Member emphasizes on students’ innovation & creativity
University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh Member Professor Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain called upon the college authorities to inspire students’ innovation and creativity for building Bangladesh, as a developed nation.
“Japan and other developed countries are hungry for talented students. We need to enhance the capacity of our graduates and produce quality human resources,” he said.
The UGC Member made the remarks while addressing a workshop on ‘IDG Implementation: Challenges Way to Overcome’. College Education Development Project organized the day-long workshop at UGC on 07 October 2019.
Professor Sazzad Hossain also urged students for startups because it will help develop their ideas. “Don’t waste time on facebook and twitter, rather concentrate on innovation and startups,” he advised the students.
Speakers participated in the workshop said that 60 percent graduate employability is highly needed to become a middle income country. At present, 38 percent of our graduates are employable.
Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hussain, Dean, Post Graduate, National University, Dr. Shiro Nakat and Dr. Mokhlesur Rahman, Co-Task Team Leaders, World Bank and AKM Mukhlesur Rahman, Project Director of CEDP, among others, spoke. Representatives from 60 IDG enlisted colleges of NU took part in the day-long workshop.
