Workshop on skills development of ICT Engineers on 13 Nov

 A day-long workshop on ‘Skills Development of ICT Engineers on IT Engineers Examination (ITEE) Targeting Japanese Market’ will be held at UGC Auditorium on 13 November 2019.

 

University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) will jointly organize the event to raise awareness and facilitate the widely-taken IT Engineers Examination so that the Bangladeshi IT graduates can enhance their skills.

 

Zunaid Ahmed Palak, M.P, Hon’ble State Minister, ICT Division, will grace the event as the Chief Guest. Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury, MP, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education, NM Zeaul Alam, Senior Secretary, ICT Division, Hiroyuki Yamaya, Minister, Embassy of Japan, Parthapratim Deb, Executive Director, BCC, and Yuji Ando, Country Representative, Japan External Trade Organisation will be present as the Special Guests. Professor Dr. Kazi Shaidullah, Chairman of UGC will preside over the function. UGC Members, Vice Chancellors from different public and private universities, faculty members of engineering departments are expected to be present in the workshop.

 

UGC Member Professor Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain said that ITEE is considered the national level examination for IT graduates in Japan. After successful completion of the IT proficiency test, the Bangladeshi graduates will be competent for Japan market. “For this, we have to equip our IT students with multidisciplinary subjects.”

 

The UGC Member also said “Japan is a big market for us. We have fixed a target to send 10,000 graduates to Japan within three years. If we can send our graduates there, it will help us in technology transfer and knowledge-sharing. These students will become our assets”. ‘Besides, the productive and skilled software engineers can contribute a lot to make Bangladesh a developed country by 2041,” he said adding this initiative will help prepare Bangladesh for challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
