UGC to facilitate Japan’s initiative to boost Bangladeshi tech experts

 

A four-member representative from Holor Technology Inc, Japan made a courtesy call on University Grants Commission of Bangladesh Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan at UGC on 06 March 2019.

 

The delegation apprised the UGC Chairman that Japan has keen interest in providing technical assistance to different public and private universities in Bangladesh for providing world-class technological experts in the country. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is expected to finance the project. 

 

Holor Technology Inc, Japan wants to help engineering students in Bangladeshi universities to develop their skills and knowledge to boost education and research about electronic technology, said Mr. Mitsumasa Tsutsui, Chief Operating Officer of Holor.

 

UGC Chairman said definitely, it’s a very good opportunity for Bangladesh once it is materialized and a new window will be opened for our graduates. ‘It will create skilled IT and electronic professionals in Bangladesh for a fast evolving electronic industry worldwide,’ he said. UGC Chairman assured the delegation of providing all possible support and cooperation in this regard.

 

UGC Members Professor Dr. Dil Afroza Begum and Professor Dr. M. Shah Nowaz Ali; Dr. Md. Khaled, Secretary, Dr. Fakhrul Islam, Director of Private University Division, Zafor Ahommad Jahanger, Joint Secretary, Jesmin Pervin, Additional Director of International Co-operation & Collaboration and Md. Shahin Siraj, Deputy Secretary, UGC were present on the meet-up.
